Death Valley & Eastern Sierra Weekend
SCMM will return to Death Valley in 2020! Death Valley is like no other place on earth, and it’s right in our own backyard. Don’t miss this opportunity to visit this unique and beautiful land. Death Valley is the largest U.S. National Park outside Alaska at 3.4 million acres. It’s also home to the lowest point in the Western hemisphere at 282 feet below sea level. We plan to spend the first two nights at Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley (March 26&27).
The third night will be at the Dow Villa Motel in Lone Pine. Our evening activities will include a movie at the Lone Pine Film History Museum.

ModeratorWell, that falls in ski season territory, Hope you have a good time! Well I guess if April 2-4, 2020 were the dates I could easily make that one 🙂

ParticipantReservations made both at Stovepipe Wells and Lone Pine. Two full days in Death Valley will be a real treat. This year’s run just was just an appetizer!

ParticipantWell, I have had to cancel my reservations. I will be going to Australia at this time instead for an Overseas Adventure Travel tour and my second attendance to “Mokin Jervis Bay”, a great event for those of us crazy enough to own a Moke!

ParticipantSomething I always wanted to do is see the Death Valley racetrack, with those giant stones that seem to be moving on their own! But going there requires a 4×4 and I only have an R53. If anyone’s got a countryman and wants to hit the racetrack with me, let me know!

ParticipantDang! My trip to Australia and Singapore that prevented me from this Death Valley event had to be canceled when my tour company canceled all tours for March and April, followed within a few hours by the Australian government requiring a mandatory two-week quarantine for anyone entering the country.
So while I am now in the middle of canceling airline tickets to Australia, Singapore, and home I thought “Hmmm, now I can go on the Death Valley trip”! And here I find out even that is out.
Oh, well. In good news, I now know how to spell “quarantine”!
