This year’s Memorial Run is set for Nov. 9-11, in Paso Robles. It’s been six years since the club’s last overnight trip to Paso Robles. Located in the heart of the Central Coast wine country, this once sleepy little cow town is now packed with fine dining, boutique shops, and plenty of wine. Paso Robles is also easy driving distance to Morro Bay, Cambria and San Simeon.
Our base of operations will be the retro-style Melody Ranch Motel on Spring Street, right in the center of town next to the Paso Robles Inn, and walking distance to the City Park and restaurants. Spring Street was once the main drag before the Highway 101 bypass was built, and the Melody Ranch was one of the original motels. It’s been a favorite of SCMM members since 2009.

ITINERARY
Friday
Caravan to Paso Robles from the Denny’s in Sylmar that will include a wonderfully scenic drive on Highway 58 and the always exciting Highway 229, or the more direct route on Highway 46 from the I-5. Members are free to choose a route.Arrive in Paso Robles in early afternoon for lunch, exploring town square, wine tasting, etc. before check-in at motel. Socialize at the “Wolfman’s Lair” before dinner on your own.
Saturday
Expect the spectacular! We’ll take an amazing road out to the coast, then north on the legendary Highway 1, to Sand Dollar Beach. Bring your walking shoes if you plan to do some beach combing for sand dollars.
Lunch will be at Ragged Point before returning to Paso Robles (with optional winery visit on the way back). “Happy Hour” back at the Lair before dinner on your own.To Register & RSVP for this event, click HERE.

Please add Patti and Tom Mc. to your list. Room is booked. Now waiting until my November flying schedule comes out to see if we can go. Holiday weekends are harder to get off but fingers crossed.
